Where Classic Rock and Metal Music Fans Hang Out

My playlist for 1980 only features one true debut, and that is by Loverboy. There was a debut of a new singer for an established band. That would be Black Sabbath, who released their first album with Ronnie James Dio. I didn’t know this way back in 1980. I have just recently developed an interest in this era of Sabbath. Of course, my favorite band Kiss released yet another classic called Unmasked (just kidding about the classic part). I remember listening to REO’s “Hi Infidelity” about a million times on vinyl. You can say the same for AC/DC’s “Back In Black”, Queen’s “The Game”, and Foreigner’s “Head Games”. “Hungry Heart” by Springsteen is probably one of my top 2 all-time Springsteen songs. 1980 also produced one of my top 2 favorite all-time Police songs in “Don’t Stand So Close To Me”. And finally, 1980 is the year we lost Bon Scott (RIP). The playlist is:

1. Hungry Heart – Bruce Springsteen (The River)
2. Games People Play – The Alan Parsons Project (The Turn Of A Friendly Card)
3. Follow My Heart – REO Speedwagon (Hi Infidelity)
4. Ah! Leah – Donnie Iris (Back On The Streets)
5. In America – Charlie Daniels Band (Full Moon)
6. Seven Bridges Road (Live) – The Eagles (Eagles Live)
7. Shoot To Thrill – AC/DC (Back In Black)
8. Don’t Stand So Close To Me – The Police (Zenyatta Mondatta)
9. Rev On The Red Line – Foreigner (Head Games)
10. Play The Game – Queen (The Game)
11. Any Way You Want It – Journey (Departure)
12. Shandi – Kiss (Unmasked)
13. Turn Me Loose – Loverboy (Loverboy)
14. Hell Is For Children – Pat Benatar (Crimes Of Passion)
15. Fire Lake – Bob Seger And The Silver Bullet Band (Against The Wind)
16. Hold On – Kansas (Audio Visions)
17. Hey Nineteen – Steely Dan (Gaucho)
18. Even It Up – Heart (Bebe le Strange)
19. Heaven And Hell – Black Sabbath (Heaven And Hell)
20. Emotional Rescue – The Rolling Stones (Emotional Rescue)
21. Everybody Wants Some!! – Van Halen (Women And Children First)

Once again, this is a lot of great music. It’s available for listening on my music player if you like…

wow, I am flashing back to a time when Disco sucked, Punk was mainstreaming, New Wave ruled, Classic 70's rock was fading, and Hair bands started to make debuts. What a neurotic time for music. But I loved it!!!
