My playlist for 1980 only features one true debut, and that is by Loverboy. There was a debut of a new singer for an established band. That would be Black Sabbath, who released their first album with Ronnie James Dio. I didn’t know this way back in 1980. I have just recently developed an interest in this era of Sabbath. Tragedy struck in 1977. We lost several members of Lynyrd Skynyrd in a plane crash only 3 days after the release of Street Survivors. I can only imagine how much more great music we would have gotten out of this great, classic line-up. On a happier note, my favorite band Kiss gave me two more albums (Love Gun and Alive II).
