RJhog 1980 PLAYLIST

My playlist for 1980 only features one true debut, and that is by Loverboy. There was a debut of a new singer for an established band. That would be Black Sabbath, who released their first album with Ronnie James Dio. I didn’t know this way back in 1980. I have just recently developed an interest in this era of Sabbath. Of course, my favorite band Kiss released yet another classic called Unmasked (just kidding about the classic part). I remember listening to REO’s “Hi Infidelity” about a million… Continue

RJhog 1978

1978 was a great year for me. If you've read any of my previous posts, you probably know that Kiss is my favorite band. Kiss released 4 albums in 1978, sort of. Each member released a solo album at the same time. However, I feel like only 2 of those albums were good (Ace Frehley & Paul Stanley) so I only included songs from those two. 1978 also introduced us to 4 future classic rock artists (Molly Hatchet, Toto, Dire Straits and the big one, Van Halen). I can only imagine how much more great music we would have gotten out of this great, classic line-up. On a happier note, my favorite band Kiss gave me two more albums (Love Gun and Alive II). Alive II had a 5 studio songs, and I included one of those (Rocket Ride) on this playlist. Meatloaf released Bat Out Of Hell, which is one of my all-time favorite albums. Fle… Continue

RJhog 1976

1976 is definitely my favorite year of the 70's so far. I think it was great that at one time bands sometimes put out 2 albums in one year. 1976 was no different. Kiss released what many feel is their best album in Destroyer, and followed up the same year with Rock And Roll Over (possibly my favorite). Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band put out a live album and a studio album. Nazareth actually trumped everyone by putting out 2 studio albums and a greatest hits collection. Kansas released Left… Continue
