Michael Jackson...RIP

Yeah, I know this is a rock website, but just wanted to post something about MJ. True, he's had issues (we all have, but maybe not to the extent he did), but credit needs to be given. I won't hide the fact that I really like "Thriller", a great album with something for everyone. I can remember waiting for the world premiere of the "Thriller" video on MTV while in the Air Force, sitting in the dayroom with a bunch of friends, not feeling the least bit embarrassed even though I was a metalhead. He… Continue

New Mystery Playlist

So I did a playlist off 100 songs by 100 different artists with the word "rock" in the song title. I got bored with that after a month. So I sat around thinking what I could do next, and decided that since it's getting warmer out, it's the perfect time to make a new playlist with 100 songs from 100 different artists of songs you just gotta crank to the max. You roll down your windows turn the volume to 11 and let your neighbors be damned. Songs for a roadtrip, or so I think.

And then I got lazy… Continue

I ordered it from Amazon yesterday. It should be here in about 10- 12 days (I'm to cheap to pay for shipping). I'll let you know what I think.

Hey Jon, I picked up the newest Extreme "Saudades De Rock" and I like it all so far. "Ghost" is a friggin' awesome song. Thanks for the heads-up.

Got 2 questions for you....I think you said you were a big fan of Extreme. What is their best album in your opinion? And, was the album they just released in 2008 (wierd title) good? I heard a song that I think was called "Ever Gonna Change" on XM on the way back from lunch and it was excellent.

Believe it or not, I actually like a couple of Partridge Family songs. Your playlists are a little more difficult because you do all 100 songs. How about a female theme ( all songs either being performed by females or having a female name in the title).

I'm doing a playlist for each year. For example, 1970 will have songs from albums that were released in 1970. Only 1 song from any given album. Between 14 and 20 songs per year. 1970 is finished and online. I'm working on 1971 now. Of course, I have to leave off a lot of good songs that I don't have, but it's still fun to go back and see what was released each year.

Hey Jon, if you get time, check out my blog post on 1970. There was some fantastic music released that year. I'm gonna try to do a playlist for every year through the mid 90's or so. Tell me what you think.
