The James Young Group--"Raised by Wolves." JY without Styx was as heavy as metal can get--I'm amazed! Also lots of Cream, Who, Def Leppard, Van Halen and a slew of "hair bands" for the laughs!

Still rockin'
I'm a former rock crit for the Chicago Sun Times, Creem, Rolling Stone and more--now a screenwriter and still writing the odd review when I have time. I've reunited recently with a few of my old "rock road dawgs" from the 70s and 80s and I'm glad to see they're all still rockin', still keepin' the faith. So am I. Good to be here!

Not your Mama's Styx
I recently reunited with an old Chicago pal, JY, James Young, lead guitarist of Styx. I've moved on from my rock crit days, and have rarely been in touch with any of my old friends from then, but through a series of amazing "coincidences," I've not only gotten in touch but have also gone to see the "new" Styx. And I have to say that the Styx JY dreamt of having back when has finally arrived--I wasn't a fan back then, but this hard rockin', "not your Mama's Styx" has made me a convert.
