Van Halen is the best American Rock Band ever. However, they have been honestly fucked up for many years and we fans have suffered a lack of good new music. I hope the current lineup records and VH rocks again!

For me, the favorite lineup is the original line up...but just barely over the Sammy era.

Best albums to me:
1) Van Halen - the debut...still one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Groundbreaking, and scene changing, it was!

2) Fair Warning - only problem with this record...too quick of a listen...but killer every minute of it!!

3) For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge - easily my favorite Hagar era release. I dont understand why its not liked more by people, generally speaking.

I do like the Hagar material but I heard the first album when it came out and that to me is the benchmark. The best debut album after Montrose (both produced by Ted Templeman).

I love Unchained - what a riff!

DAVE DAVE DAVE!!! LOL! I love them both.

Heres my top 3 VH releases...

1 - Fair Warning: Classic from Track 1 to the end. The first time I heard all I could say was, "come on Dave, gimme a break..."
2 - Van Halen: My older brother brought this home with Foreigners first release. My musical life changed that day!
3 - 1984: My Air guitar got rudely interupted by Air Keyboards! But I love it still...

Sorry no Sammy in my top 3. However if I had to put one in there it woudl be Balance!...
