Hi Folks, I happen to catch the last part of the Heart Live Concert on Palladia HD last night, and they did three awesome covers to end the show, They did a killer version of Led Zeps "Black Dog" and "Misty Mountain Hop" don't believe I have ever heard those covered so well, they end with a awesome version of The Who's "Reign ore Me" and they nailed it, The Wilson Girls still rock it up fairly well! I need to catch the first part of the show I guess!!
Ann & Nancy Wilson are the female Page/Plant of rock & roll & Heart deserve to be inducted into the RNRHOF. Ann is one of the greatest female rock vocalist of all time with few equals. Nancy was one of my favorite babes, in those days, along with Farrah Fawcett & Valerie Bertinelli & she still looks great. I have seen a Heart TV special on VH1 Classic lots of times, but I don't know about this one.
There was a thread a while back about who looks better, Lita Ford or Stevie Nicks. Well, Nancy Wilson blows both of them away at their current age as well as when they were younger (not that this comment really has anything to do with rock music)!!!
I think the Zep covers have been a staple in their shows for years, its part of their live set they released in the early 80's and I've seen them at least twice since then, and they ended those shows with Zeppelin covers as well. I do agree with you though, there is no one better at covering Zep than the Wilson sisters.
Yes, when I saw them live back in '80 they payed the proper tribute to their big influences, but they didn't play any WHO, only LZ - and they did it justice.
Oh yeh, you've got to see the whole thing. This band is inconic. I had some pretty strong flashbacks to all the road parties I was at while this album was played through in its entirety (8 track back then). Something about Dramboat Annie on a straight-through run has the effect (I'm sure they were shooting for). You're right about the last set - they nailed it all.
