The Black Crowes - Sept 12th Casino Rama
Me and a bro drove the 2½ hrs up to Orillia, checked into a hotel and couldn't wait till 7:00 for the shuttle bus to pick us up t head way out to the boonies to Casino Rama. 6 or 7 shots of Crown Royal n Coke and I was fully primed. Consession booth got a real cool Tee and keychain, couple more beers and I was off. On comes the band (and our seats were pretty good, couple of rows up from the floors.) Chris Robinson looked like he just spent the last 3 hours blowin' reefer and lookin' VERY happy. Rich Robinson was playin at all time excellent level. The whole night I was rockin, and shout n clappin. Me and about 5 or 6 other people in our row. and that was about it. The rest of the entire audience, say except for about 60 or 70 people who kinda rushed the stage and were able to stand way up front, but everybody else were like zombies. I dunno, maye they were all high too, but I doubt it. The casino has this habit of compin' a whole shitload of tickets out to just about anybody. They probably thought they were going to see the Counting Crows or something stoopid like that. But me and the bunch in our row made ourselves heard, and at the end of the night, when Chris was exiting the stage he stopped at the edge, looked over our way and gave out a salute. I thought that was cool. It was a real good rockin' groovy show and although I will never go back to that stupid casino for a show I can't wait for the crowes to come around again. maybe massey Hall in Toronto.
