What cd's have you purchased lately? Tonight I bought:
1. Crooked X - Self Titled
2. Uriah Heep - Wake The Sleeper
3. Blackfoot - Strikes
4. Dokken - Lightning Strikes Again
5. Nazareth - The Newz
6. King's X - XV
7. Alice Cooper - Along Came A Spider
8. Mastodon - Crack The Skye
Last week I bought:
1. Journey - Arrival
2. Neil Young - Greatest Hits
3. Black Sabbath - Paranoid
4. Heart - Dreamboat Annie
5. Def Leppard - High 'N' Dry
6. Eagles - Long Road Out Of Eden
7. Night Ranger - Midnight Madness
8. Night Ranger - Dawn Patrol
Some of these I've had before and somehow managed to lose (probably that ex-wife). Most are totally new to me and I can't wait to listen. These will be on my iPod tonight and in my ear starting tomorrow. Maybe I'll actually start posting some reviews one of these days.
Just don't waste your money on Brave New World. I bought that cd at a yard sale and almost went back to demand they return my fifty cents. The first song sounds like a New Kids On The Block track that went horribly wrong. I feel sorry for whoever was involved in that catastrophe.
Jimi Jamison - Crossroads Moment
The Answer - Everyday Demons
Lacuna Coil - Shallow Life
Fleetwood Mac - The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac
Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know
I've got to stop buying so many cd's so that I can actually listen to what I have.

But why? It's fun to have stuff you picked up a couple years ago still sitting waiting for a listen. This year I made a pact to listen to all the stuff I haven't listened to yet, and then Borders had to go and do that thing.
And the pile keeps growing.....I think I'm up to 60 sitting in the pile. I need to win the lottery!
And about Lacuna Coil....their newest is fantastic, with only one problem: It's less than 45 min long! Don't know why groups do this nowadays, it's a bit of a letdown. First listen and the song "Unchained" just stuck with me. A definite must buy in my book.
I havent heard the album but the time seems perfect to me. I like to sit and listen to an album and when I do I pay attention to it but if its a studio album about 40-50 minutes is perfect length
I sort of agree with you, Isaac. Sometimes I think today's bands make their cd's too long. For some reason, anything over 12 songs for a studio album just seems to long for me. I miss the good old days of 10 songs, maybe 11, but sometimes even just 9 songs. Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell only has 7 songs, which is just perfect for that album. I couldn't imagine it with 12 or 13 songs.
The one thing I really liked about GNR's Use Your Illusion was the double disc release. You could buy 2 cd's at once, or buy 1 at a time. I liked that idea but even then, those 2 cd's had about 30 songs between them (they should have done 3 discs instead of 2). I just like about 10 songs on a cd unless it is live or a greatest hits compilation.

I mostly agree, but then there's some albums that you just don't want to end. The new Lacuna Coil is like that for me, just strong from the first song to the last, so I was a little let down that it ended so soon.
