THE CLASSIC ROCK REVISITED COMMUNITY

Where Classic Rock and Metal Music Fans Hang Out

I'll try to keep this updated weekly, it'll be a list of CD & DVD titles coming up that may be of interest.

After some releases, there's letter(s) in parenthesis which have the following meanings:

R=Reissue, not necessarily remastered
RM=Remastered
ET=Extra Tracks
B=Box Set

If there's nothing listed after the title, it'll be a new release.

There might be some I missed so please add them on! Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Jon, this may be a stooopid question, but is the cd listed above as "Flash" the movie soundtrack from Queen? Well, probably not, maybe the movie was called "Flash Gordon". I obviously don't remember....

It's the group the ex-Yes guitarist Peter Banks formed after leaving Yes. And remember, there's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people. Aw man, was that really necessary? :-)

Got a question for you...I'm eventually going to open a Queen fan group, how do you get a player on the groups you've opened?

Reply to This

Okay, I had to get one for Cheap Trick and make sure I could remember how. Just go to one of the groups (like Kiss or Cheap Trick) that already have a player, at the bottom of the player click create playlist. That will take you to the site where you register and create your playlist.

On word of advice, when you search Queen and songs pop up, don't trust that the song is from the album that's pictured. A lot of the songs are live versions, so play yourself a sample of any song you want to choose and make sure it's the cut that you want. Also, look at the time for the track, sometimes you just don't get what it says. If it's a 4 minute song and the time says 1:25, it's probably not what you are looking for.

When you finish creating the playlist, click on embed at the bottom of your player and choose "another site". It will ask you for some parameters like autostart or shuffle, then you'll click "get code". A bunch of gibberish shows up, just copy that and go back to your Queen page. There is a place for 3rd party widgets and such, just paste that code there and you are good to go.

I'll be watching for you to get that group going. I thought about it but never got around to it.
