I had the honor and privilege to see Fleetwood Mac live last month for the first time. Although the venue where they played here in Detroit did them no justice, they sounded great. I was very pleased with their set list and their straight 2.5 hours of play..including coming back out 3 times for encore performances. I just wondered if anyone else had the chance to catch them on this tour and what they thought of it..despite the fact that they were selling their tickets at a whopping 150$ each! Lindsey Buckingham was phenomenal, Mick Fleetwood put on such a grand show..Stevie Nicks also brought out her "gypsy" outfit and John McVie was legendary. What did you think?
I added 10 Fleetwood Mac videos that I taped from the concert to the site. I also have Go your own way, The Chain and Second hand news..which were all too large to upload..so if you'd like to see those, just shoot me an email.
Okay, I saw the Fleetwood Mac concert in Charlotte on Saturday. It was a very, very good show. I have to say that Lindsey Buckingham is an incredible guitarest. He has the most unique style. I guess you can say that he picks with his fingers (no actual pick used that I could see), but it sounds like he is using a pick. It's amazing. And he is tireless. The only breaks he took were at the end of the show (2.5 hours) before the encore and during Mick Fleetwood's drum solo. Stevie Nicks was very good, although her age is showing. She doesn't seem to quite have the range that she used to, but she still sounds great. Mick Fleetwood and John McVie were a solid rhythm section. Mick is very animated while he is drumming. I have never heard the complete song "Silver Springs" until Saturday night, and I must say that I can't believe it was left of of the Rumours album. It's a great song and I'll be purchasing the greatest hits cd with this song on it. Great show!!!
Indeed!! I agree with everything you said 100%. And yes, Lindsey never uses a pick. Its amazing isnt it? I uploaded some videos from the Detroit show, be sure to check them out!
Jeff i have the cd "the dance" by fleetwood mac. Its a live album when they first got back together and has a great version of silver springs on it. I have also seen the video and when Stevie is singing, she is singing to Lindsey B. They are, to me, legends.
